Macknight Architects has based its practice on a broad range of architectural projects ranging from individual residences to multi-tenant projects and public facilities. Our capabilities extend to site and master planning, feasibility studies, programming, interior design and historic preservation / restoration.

Established in 1985, our offices are located in downtown syracuse. we have a commitment to design excellence as evidenced by our association with high profile, design oriented projects, and the loyalty of repeat clients. The firm has established a reputation for being able to take a project from conception to completion on budget and on schedule. the firms dedication to quality lasting architecture is practiced with careful detailing and choice of materials to ensure the client of an end product which will endure.

We are looking for an architectural designer to join our growing firm. We offer a heathy work-life balance with a flexible work schedule, and have great employee benefits. This position is for full-time employment on site, with remote work on occasion.

Qualifications and Responsibilities
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Software required. Sketchup, Adobe Suite or other rendering software knowledge is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture. Licensure is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in an architectural firm.
• Strong knowledge of New York State Building and Energy Codes.
• Experience in light-gauge metal framing commercial building construction/ detailing.
• Experience with design and production.
• Ability to manage small and medium commercial projects from design through construction.
• Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and as part of a team.
• This is a close-knit and collaborative environment, so a willingness to wear multiple hats as needed and enthusiasm about participating in the business, as needed, is important.
